Stridely is an iPhone app that turns daily step counts into friendly challenges with people you invite. This page explains what the app collects, why, and how you stay in control. There is no advertising, no analytics tracker and nothing for sale.

Only daily totals leave your phoneAnd only after you agree to share them with a specific circle or with friends. Distance, floors and individual Health samples never leave your iPhone.

Never for advertisingHealth data is never used for marketing, never sold, and never shared with anyone other than the circle members and friends you choose.

Never written backStridely never writes to Apple Health and never stores Health data in iCloud. Its local copy is excluded from device backups.

Health and motion data

With your permission, Stridely reads step counts, walking distance and flights climbed from Apple Health, or step counts from your iPhone's motion sensor. This data is used only to show your progress and to run the challenges you join.

What the service stores

When you connect with friends, Stridely creates an account on our server and stores:

The display name and avatar you choose. A profile photo, if you add one, stays on your phone and is never uploaded.
Daily step totals for the days covered by each circle you join, and, if you turn on friend sharing, your recent daily totals for accepted friends.
Photos you choose to share with a circle. Each is resized on your phone, stripped of location and camera metadata, kept for 30 days, then deleted.
Circles you belong to, friend connections, cheers you send and receive, blocks and reports you make.
If you sign in with Apple, the identifier Apple provides. Stridely does not receive your email address unless you choose to share it.
If you enable notifications, a device token so cheers can reach your phone. Notifications never contain step counts.

Stridely does not collect your location, contacts, email, phone number, or any other Health categories, and does not collect usage analytics.

Who can see what

Members of a circle can see each other's display names, avatars, shared daily totals, standings and shared photos for that circle. Accepted friends can see each other's recent daily totals. Nobody else can. There is no public profile or directory. Blocking someone hides you from each other.

Where data is stored

The service runs on Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare D1, which store data on our behalf under Cloudflare's privacy and security commitments. Apple delivers notifications and Sign in with Apple. No other third party receives your data.

Retention and deletion

You can turn off sharing, leave any circle, remove any friend, export your data and delete your account at any time from Settings in the app.

Deleting your account removes your profile, step totals, memberships, friendships, cheers, photos and device tokens immediately. Circles you host are deleted too unless you transfer hosting first.

Sign-in sessions expire after 90 days. Data is kept only while your account exists.

Children

Stridely is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
